Slanting Lines
Far away and long ago,
once upon a time and place,
the world just so,
a pretty maiden, heart aglow
will sit and spin, so full of grace,
far away and long ago.
A fairy, good or bad, will know
exactly when to show her face,
the world just so.
A wingéd dragon, flying low,
will seek a human sacrifice,
far away and long ago.
A handsome prince will boldly go
and dangers great will bravely face,
the world just so.
True love will germinate and grow,
all tribulations to displace,
far away and long ago,
the world just so.
